The movement of the first structure member with respect to the second compresses the absorbent article laterally between the supports. When the movement of the frames is reversed, the absorbent article can expand outward, tending to regain its original transverse dimension. The degree of lateral recovery is measured as the post-compression recovery value. The absorbent article includes a liquid permeable cover, a liquid impervious baffle, and an absorbent located between the cover and the baffle. The absorbent article has a post-compression recovery value of at least 15 mm, a wet load value of at least 300 grams, a stress value of less than 100 g / mm, and a thickness of less than about 5 mm.
