Abstract

Se describen en general, métodos para el control de insectos en plantas monocotiledoneas, en particular maíz. Más precisamente, la presente invencionse relaciona con (1) un método para el control de insectos, que comprende alimentar o poneren contacto un insecto con una cantidad insecticida decélulas de planta monocotiledonea transgénica que comprenden una secuencia de ADN recombinante que comprende una secuencia codificadora que codificaperoxidasa, y (2) una planta monocotiledoneatransgénica fértil que comprende una secuencia de ADN recombinante que comprende una secuencia codificadora quecodifica peroxidasa. Se describe además una celula de planta transgénica, tejido o semilla, un descendiente transgénico y el uso deADN recombinante y deuna planta.
